Reiki and Chakras
Reiki and Chakras
When people first hear the word chakra, they often picture something abstract or far-off; a concept from a yoga class or a wellness graphic with seven colored dots running up the spine. And while that image is not wrong, it can feel a little disconnected from the body, which is the opposite of what I am after in my work.
So here is a simple way to think about it. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and translates roughly to wheel or disk; the idea originates in ancient yogic and Tantric traditions of India, where these centers were understood as focal points of energy along the body, each associated with certain physical regions, emotions, and qualities (the seven most commonly referenced run from the base of the spine up to the crown of the head). Across these traditions, the chakras are described as places where energy gathers and moves; and when that movement is balanced, you tend to feel more steady and well, and when it is not, things can feel off in ways that are hard to pinpoint.
In my reiki sessions, and woven within my signature service, I work with the chakras as living, moving centers; not fixed points to fix, but areas that can move too fast, too slow, or slightly out of step with the rest of you. I think of each one as having its own pace and direction, almost like a current; and when one is rushing or stalled or spinning against the grain, you can often feel it before you can name it. A tightness, a heaviness, a sense of being scattered or stuck, a restlessness that does not quite have words.
So my work is not about forcing anything open or blasting energy through; it is more like gentle, attentive tending. Where a center feels frantic or overactive, I help calm it; where it feels sluggish or shut down, I help it rise and circulate again. The goal is balance, a steady and sustainable pace, each chakra moving in the right direction and at the right speed, in alignment with your truest self and with all the other centers around it. When they are working together rather than competing, the whole system tends to settle; and you begin to feel more grounded, more spacious, and more at home in your own body.
Reiki is how I meet what is actually present, rather than what I assume should be there. Each session is responsive, I address what is needed, when it is needed, and where it is asking for attention. Your energy tells the story, and my role is to listen closely and respond with care.
I hold this work with both reverence and openness rather than overblown claims; what I can say with confidence is that people very often leave feeling lighter, calmer, clearer, and more like themselves. I attribute this to a holistic framework that includes the reiki and chakras just as much as it does your body’s own ability to heal in the right setting.
If any of this resonates, I would love to welcome you in; we can meet your energy exactly where it is.
